Conestoga River Water Trail

Water trail

The Conestoga River is one of Lancaster County’s most scenic rivers. Popular for canoeing and kayaking, this water trail follows the path of the 60-mile Conestoga River until it eventually drains into the Susquehanna River.

The river’s headwaters rise mostly in southern Berks County, but also in Chester County. The East Branch and West Branch of the Conestoga join to form the main river just north of Morgantown and the stream flows from northeast to southwest. The river passes close to the center of the city of Lancaster and ends at Safe Harbor along the Susquehanna River, approximately 16 miles north of the Mason-Dixon line.
